About Us
What Isn’t the MSCA?When many people hear the name Montana Senior Citizens Association (MSCA), they think of blue-hairs passing their final days championing concerns that are only relevant to their age bracket. Nothing could be further from the truth. Unfortunately, for those with delusional fountain of youth fantasies, senior citizen issues are issues that will face each and every American over the course of their lifetime. There is simply no way to avoid growing older, which though it comes with wisdom, life experience, expanding families and many joys in life, also carries with it a new line of problems and worries unfamiliar to younger members of the community. For this reason, the MSCA does not limit its membership and/or involvement criteria to only citizens of a certain age. Even the most youthful of those among us will one day grow old, and long before then have friends, family and loved ones grow old around them. There is no such thing as a senior citizen cause, only human causes that actively affect the quality of life for all citizens. So, What Is the MSCA?The Montana Senior Citizens Association is the largest senior grassroots group based in Montana. Organized in 1973 to address a wide range of issues, it is an organization working for Montanans. MSCA members are of all ages from teenagers to centenarians. The MSCA works to form coalitions with other non-profit groups to address issues such as: health care, the environment, energy, a living wage, social security, taxes, etc.Goals of the MSCA
- Work for public policy changes that respond to the needs of all Montanans.
- Educate the public on issues that directly affect the well being of Montanans.
- Establish a fair and equitable tax base for all Montanans
- Work closely with our legislators and as a member of coalitions interested in the same issues.
